I
love working for Heritage! I have had a variety of roles
with the agency both in the Portland, OR and Spokane, WA
offices since I started with them almost 5 years ago. Now
that I am the Domestic Adoption Senior Clinician I am
delighted beyond belief. I love working with birth and
adoptive families, as I find it very rewarding. I have also
worked with families at Head Start, been a youth counselor
(I actually LOVE teenagers!), and have worked in a domestic
violence shelter and a parenting teen residential facility.
I have
been married to my husband Chris since 2004. Somewhere in
there I got my Masters in Social Work from Eastern
Washington University. I will admit I enjoy TV (especially
those decorating shows), as well as reading, crafty stuff,
attempting to be a photographer and daydreaming about
floor plans for homes (I used to want to be an architect
but somehow ended up a social worker…). I am the proud
Co-Director of my church’s junior high girls camp, which
is just so much fun and very rewarding. Someday I am going
to be a gardener, play the guitar, learn shorthand, you
know, all the stuff none of us have time for.
