We decided to add to our family of three biological sons in January 1999. Heritage was the first agency to respond to my emails with an enthusiastic “Yes, we can help you!”

One year from the date we met with Heritage for the first time, Mike and I were in their office looking at the picture of the little girl we’d longed for.  To write that it was emotional would be an understatement.  Our daughter has been such a blessing that we sent our second dossier to China in January 2002, again with Heritage’s assistance.

We found our new daughter on Heritage’s first list of “Waiting Children”. From the moment I saw her little faxed face, I knew she was meant for our family. After a little stutter (and a big help from Kathy), we received approval from CCAA. Vicki and Kathy kept us informed every step of the way, providing us with current pictures and an updated health report. Because CCAA expedites the adoption process of the waiting children, we were able to bring her home very quickly. Our daughter’s condition was correctly assessed in China, and we are blessed with a beautiful, spunky little girl who will require only one surgery to correct her medical issue.

Working with Vicki at Heritage has been wonderful.  I consider both Vicki and Kathy to be very special friends. If we find ourselves in the position to adopt again, we would not hesitate to use Heritage and the Waiting Children’s Program again.
