- After deciding to adopt from
China, we interviewed several agencies before finding our way to
Heritage. From the moment we walked into the office to meet Vicki
we knew we had the right match for us. She was warm and sensitive
as well as being very knowledgeable. We both decided immediately
to choose Heritage. Any agency can submit adoption papers on your
behalf, Heritage went one step further by providing caring support
alongside their very efficient service.

- Throughout the process of
preparing our paperwork, the staff at Heritage, especially Vicki
and Kim, were never too busy to patiently and thoroughly answer
our many questions. Once our paperwork was completed without a
hitch, we officially became a “waiting family.” The wait was very
difficult for us as it is for most adoptive parents. Vicki and the
rest of the Heritage team remained steadfast and patient with us
throughout that trying time. As we waited, Heritage staff gave us
the unique opportunity to get to know our travel companions. We
traveled to China with people that we already knew and cared
about.
Once we received our referral we were notified immediately and
were able to drop what we were doing and go straight to Heritage
to finally see the face of our long awaited daughter. Heritage
provided exactly the kind of environment we needed, the privacy to
experience the moment of seeing our daughter for the first time,
and the support we needed as we had so many more questions.
The travel to China can be a daunting experience. Not only are
there the many details of foreign travel, but the added details of
the adoption process. During our preparation to travel to China,
Vicki met with us to carefully review our travel plans and our
paperwork and explain the process to us step by step making it
much easier for us to prepare for our journey.
Meeting our daughter, Libby, was a defining moment in our lives.
It was the most intense emotional experience either one of us has
ever experienced. Needless to say, we were a bit mentally
preoccupied for several days after being united with our daughter.
During this time we had a lot of important tasks to accomplish to
complete our adoption. Our wonderful guide Kathy was with us every
step of the way. No detail was overlooked. Even more importantly,
Kathy was able to keep our new parent jitters at a minimum by
being available to answer all the questions we had about caring
for our daughter.
From the moment we walked into Heritage for the first time, until
we stepped off the plane with our daughter safely in our arms,
Heritage made sure we were always well prepared, and the entire
process went smoothly. Because of this, we were free to focus on
the most important thing, our daughter. We are profoundly grateful
to Heritage for helping make us a family
As we write this, we are beginning the paperwork to travel back to
China to adopt another child. We are once again a Heritage family.
