From the first phone call, Heritage Adoption Services treated us with kindness, patience and respect. Being new to adoption, we had a lot of questions and not once did they make us feel like a burden. In fact, at each step they provided thoughtful and thorough information. Most helpful included the adoption classes, including learning about the birth mother perspective. This foundation, for us, facilitated our ability to build a positive relationship with our birth mom. Understanding that we came to adoption after years of disappointment, they made a potentially difficult process gentle and smooth. The home study was actually fun! After a very brief waiting period, we heard that there was a birth mom in Texas that was interested in us adopting her baby. Again, H.A.S. guided us through understanding the process of interacting with our birth mom, dealing with the logistics of trans-state adoption, and provided the space to talk about our excitement, fear, joy and anxiety. Even while out of state, H.A.S. provided emotional and logistical support, particularly during the stressful time of waiting for the birth mom's relinquishment of her parental rights. We confidently recommend H.A.S. to others considering adoption and look forward to working with them in the future. We couldn't be happier or more grateful.
